Being in recovery from drugs and alcohol myself, I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed during the first few weeks of recovery. I know today that the care and support I received is what helped me get through such a critical time in my life. For this reason, I made it a goal of mine to one day be the person who provides this to others and at Lumiere Healing Centers, I’m blessed to have that opportunity every single day.

- The Lumiere Difference
Lumiere has a compassionate and caring staff that offers individualized care to every client by creating personalized treatment programs to take into account their unique history and individual needs. We never exceed a 1:10 client to staff ratio and always have team members on call 24/7, so we are fully prepared to take care of clients' specific needs during recovery. Our luxurious facilities include a restaurant chef who can personalize meals and private rooms to ensure every client feels comfortable during their stay.
- Medical Detoxification
Drugs and alcohol have widespread effects throughout your body, including but not limited to the addiction and/or physical/psychological dependence that develops with substance abuse over time. Many organ systems are affected by addiction and will react to withdrawal. The term “medical detoxification” means that there is a trained and licensed medical professional onsite to monitor your vital signs and protect your physical and emotional health as your body goes through withdrawal.
- Individual & Group Counseling
Lumiere offers different types of counseling to provide the support and guidance needed for a successful recovery. Our individual counseling sessions focus on self-reflection therapy using techniques such as interactive journaling. Group counseling includes inspirational meetings and addiction and recovery educational sessions, as well as specialized discussions, such as stress and anxiety group, goal group, triggers and impulses group, and honesty and denial group. At Lumiere, there is also family-focused counseling and support that allows clients and their families to learn how to reestablish trust and communicate more effectively.
- Dual Diagnosis/Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment
These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
The focus of cognitive behavioral therapy (also called CBT) is helping people to understand the thoughts and emotions that underlie their addiction with the goal of learning new, healthier and more productive ways to understand and express themselves.
- Aftercare Support
Recovery does not end when someone steps out our doors, and so we have programs in place that support our clients for the rest of their lives. Before any client leaves, they meet with a behavioral health team to discuss how to prepare for life after Lumiere, what counseling they still may need, and ways to prevent relapsing. We also offer outpatient rehab and partial hospitalization for those interested in continuing treatment. Each client will also receive the full support of our alumni group that has meetings once a week. Lumiere provides each client the contact information of one of our alumni coordinators who will keep clients involved in the Lumiere community through events and our private Facebook group.
I’ve attempted to get sober in the past. All I can say is that I wish my friends told me about Lumiere earlier. Other treatment programs I have attended do not compare to this place. Admission people are very patient and make the process very easy. The facility itself is impressive: great view overlooking a golf course and is extremely clean. The doctors are very cautious about detoxing and therapists do a good job of really getting to know you. Shout out to Joe and Curt. Thank you for being great. This place makes you feel like a person again!P.J Anonymous
First hand client experience. I spent the first 20 years of my life in utter chaos and the next 20 using drugs and other things to suppress the pain. At 40, I knew almost nothing about living…truly living…and I had zero desire to live. I agreed to go to Lumiere in a last effort to just maybe learn something. And man did I ever. They held my hand, they cried with me, and they got real and raw with me. It came from their heart and desire to help me understand a new way of life. I'm forever grateful!B.B Anonymous
Everything about this place was 5-star, the staff, the cooks, absolutely everything was fantastic. They genuinely care about recovery and treat you like a human being. The staff comes from self-experience, so it's not just doctors telling you what's wrong. Their approach is cutting edge to recovery and I believe they should be recognized for their approach, they're doing something great there and I'm truly blessed to have been a part of it!J.J Anonymous
Lumiere worked for me and after 40 years of alcoholism I am finally confident in my recovery. The counselors were very well educated and experienced. I learned more about my disease and myself than I have all my life. The food was abundant and very good. The rooms were comfortable and I slept well. 3 years ago, I received treatment from another facility and relapsed after 4 months. Now, I have the knowledge and strength to use the rest of my life. Thank you to the entire staff who are all dedicated to helping those of us in need.E.C Anonymous
I’ve been told I’m a man of few words, a man who’s closed off and someone who buries his feelings. Well, since today marks the 90th-day of my sobriety, it only seems fitting to at least try and share a few thoughts and the first thing that comes to mind is to say “thank you.” Thank you to my wife for being the rock of our family and for always supporting me. Thank you to Lumiere for being nothing short of a miracle-worker. You’ve helped me get my life back and for that, I’ll be forever grateful.D.M Anonymous

Addiction really hits home for me. That’s why providing personalized medical care at Lumiere is such a passion of mine. I work with our clients in a variety of different ways, but what’s most gratifying to me is to be able to watch them make their journey through recovery from day one. I have the unique opportunity to see our clients get their lives back and recover from addiction by the time they’re ready to leave.
Kurt Rittenhouse - Clinical Supervisor
Being a Primary Therapist is a passion of mine because I’ve seen the power behind Lumiere’s addiction treatment program and how it can positively change the lives of our clients. Part of my role is to help educate our clients and show them that building healthy relationships can become part of an environment that facilitates change, even beyond our walls here at Lumiere. And what really makes our addiction rehab center unique is we believe our commitment to our clients doesn’t stop when their treatment comes to an end, rather we view this as an opportunity for a new beginning and welcome them to the unity and support of our Alumni family.
Scott Stebbins - Alumni Coordinator
My personal experience with addiction has not only helped me relate to every single person that walks through our doors, but it also gives me an opportunity to share my experience, strength and hope with those who need it most. Seeing someone walk into Lumiere at their lowest, then walk out of here with a purpose is the most rewarding thing in the world for me and is the exact reason why I do what I do every day. The truth is - it takes quite a bit of strength, courage and conviction to take those first steps towards recovery, we just want everyone to know that we’re going to be right here waiting when you do.
How Our Helpline Works
For those seeking addiction treatment for themselves or a loved one, the Recovery.org helpline is a private and convenient solution.
Calls to any general helpline (non-facility specific 1-8XX numbers) for your visit will be answered by American Addiction Centers (AAC).
We are standing by 24/7 to discuss your treatment options. Our representatives work solely for AAC and will discuss whether an AAC facility may be an option for you.
Our helpline is offered at no cost to you and with no obligation to enter into treatment. Neither Recovery.org nor AAC receives any commission or other fee that is dependent upon which treatment provider a visitor may ultimately choose.
