Awakenings Hill Country Reviews and Ratings Details
The following is based on a combination of Surveys of Alumni, Staff, Loved Ones, and Reviews and Ratings from around the web.
Reviews at a Glance
- Individualized Treatment
Some facilities have an addiction treatment protocol that all patients or clients are expected to follow, while others customize or individualize treatment based on a person’s unique needs and circumstances. Factors that may affect treatment decisions include age, lifestyle, medical conditions, type of drug, religious beliefs, etc.
- Animal Therapy
Animal therapy (also called animal-assisted therapy and pet therapy) supports recovery and emotional wellbeing by helping people develop relationships with animals. Animal therapy can be a one-time or ongoing experience.
- Family Program
Research shows that the odds of successful, sustained recovery from addiction are far higher when family members and loved ones are involved in treatment. Drug and alcohol addiction often have genetic roots, whether related to substance abuse, mental illness or both. Family dynamics also play a role and, often, family members are the first to realize a loved one has developed an addiction. Also, it’s important for family members to understand and embrace the lifestyle changes that are required to sustain recovery.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
The focus of cognitive behavioral therapy (also called CBT) is helping people to understand the thoughts and emotions that underlie their addiction with the goal of learning new, healthier and more productive ways to understand and express themselves.
Though not all rehab facilities offer “medical detoxification,” all people with an addiction to drugs or alcohol will experience intense physical and emotional changes and discomfort as their bodies react to withdrawal of the addictive substance. Many people use the term “detox” to refer to the period of time (ranging from a few days to a week) when the body is reacting to an addict’s decision to stop using.
I will be sober a year on November 15, 2017. This place saved my life. I stayed willingly for 90 days and not a day goes by that I do not use a tool they taught me. I want to say about 9 out of 10 staff members are in recovery themselves. They understood what I was going through and they also modeled for me, how to live life in recovery. I remember being there, seeing how happy the staff members were. I hoped I would achieve that level of happiness in my sobriety. I have, with the tools they have given me. They also offer a class called The Recovery Enrichment Program that elevates your chances of success by over 50 percent (forgive me, I do not remember the exact percentage). The councilors they have been phenomenal. They truly care about each woman there. I love all of the women there who saved my life, even including the nurses on duty! The staff and women I met are my angels that saved my life. IF YOU NEED HELP, THIS PLACE CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE. IT SAVED MINE.Sharon E.
Awakenings Hill Country is an outstanding treatment facility for women struggling with addiction. I am forever grateful to have had received treatment at this amazing facility and knowing I was never alone as well as having support from staff and clients you become a family in a since. You build forever friendships and getting connected with women who understand and help one another is amazing. I have to say the treatment team puts their heart ,dedication and endless hours to make sure the clients are getting what they need to fight this disease from the amazing one on one counseling sessions to the group settings as well as learning the tools and coping mechanisms.I had the opportunity of doing a relapse enrichment program (R.E.P) that Awakenings offers to their clients I highly recommend it!!! I personally wanted all the help the treatment facility had to offer I was willing to go to any length to make sure this second chance at life that I was given was not going to be taken for granted the REP program has helped tremendously in my recovery this treatment facility was life changing for me words can't express how thankful and blessed I am for Awakenings and the tremendous treatment team!!!!!!Brianna C.
I am so grateful for my time here at Awakenings. I have struggled with addiction for years, and I was skeptical of anything working for me. The genuine love and support that the staff has for each one of us radiates through me and will continue to be with me through my recovery. Awakenings helped me find myself and gave me an excellent foundation for my recovery. I am eternally grateful for Awakenings. They truly saved my lifeMegan M.
I have been to treatment 3 times, and Awakenings is by far the best place I have ever been to. My experience was wonderful and I am so grateful I came here. I learned a lot about myself, the disease, coping skills, and ways to deal with my past. I am leaving here with 60 days sober and feeling more confident than ever. This place was life changing.Kristin C.
If you are looking for a relaxing location to attend treatment, Awakenings Hill Country is the place to be. Aside from all of the great amenities from the pool to the volleyball court, you have beautiful views of the hill country and its infamous deer to correlate with your recovery. The best experience for me was the personalized and more intimate treatment and counseling you are able to get at awakenings because of the smaller client occupancy they have of only 10 to 12 women. I would have never been able to get the special care I needed at any other facility because of their higher occupancy of around 50 women or men. This is, by far, the place to go for Women in Recovery!Rachael G.
My overall experience with awakenings Hill Country facility was outstanding. From the clean and comfortable facility to the sprawling grounds, to the expertise and compassion of the Treatment Counselors. The meals are all made with love and are delicious. I would highly recommend Awakenings Hill Country! The less than 20 bed all female client base allows customized treatment protocols. Sunrise and sunset against the back light of the Hill County is pure majesty!Krista V.
