Reviews at a Glance
- Individualized Evidence-based Treatment
We believe an Individual Treatment Plan (ITP) is essential. It affords the patient the best possible care based on their personal needs, An ITP takes into consideration personal goals, life situation, age, lifestyle, family circumstances, medical conditions, type of drug, belief systems, background, education, trauma, etc.
- Holistic Therapy
Facilities that offer “holistic therapy” see and treat patients in the context of their entire lives and health status. They treat the “whole person,” not just the addiction.

As soon as I stepped through the doors of acqua I was welcomed into a family - I was treated with dignity and respect. It was the first time in a while I felt like I belonged, which helped me take an honest look at myself. I learned how to love myself again and for that, I am forever grateful.Matt B.

I would describe Acqua Recovery to a friend as a really great treatment center in an absolutely beautiful setting. The staff is caring, the program seems to be truly set up for our benefit. Cheryl Barton - Clinical Director, LCMHC
Cheryl was born in California, but has lived in Utah for 14 years. She has her bachelors from BYU in Interior Design and a Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix in mental health counseling. She has a deep passion for addiction recovery, something that hits close to home. Her youngest brother struggled most of his life and died from the disease three years ago at the age of 39. As a mother, two of her four children have also battled addiction, one of which, is still fighting. She recognizes she can’t always influence their choices, but feels she can make a difference each day by educating others. For her, it’s a privilege to work with these beautiful souls, see them learn to love themselves again, and create purpose and meaning in their lives. Cheryl loves to witness people rediscover who they’ve always been; reconnect with themselves, and recognize their true value. When she’s not at Acqua, she loves being in the mountains hiking, sitting by any beach, and traveling all over the world; experiencing other cultures and people. She also adores spending time with my family and going to movies. Earlier in life, Cheryl attended school in Israel and lived in a Kibbutz for 9 months. She also did some schooling in Hawaii. Her grandma used to say, “make your mess your message” and that has inspired her throughout her life. She feels sharing the difficulties she’s experienced has allowed her to heal and has hopefully helped others learn.
