Synopsis:
RECOVERY THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THE CONTRACTOR UNDER CONTRACT NO. MD137NWS1T5, for design, engineering, testing, procurement, and deployment of dual polarization modifications to the WSR-88D/NEXRAD radar system as required by the National Weather Service, Norman OK. Using Recovery Act funding, the General Services Administration (GSA), Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Assisted Acquisition Service (AAS) intends to issue a modification to contract number MD137NWS1T5, a competitively awarded firm fixed price task issued under Millennia Lite for the WSR-88D/NEXRAD Dual Polarization Modification, awarded to L-3 Services, Inc., 11955 Freedom Dr, Reston VA. The contractor will support the procurement of installation hardware/component kits and associated processing and control software, and provide for deployment/installation of the kits at multiple WSR-88D/NEXRAD locations. This work is within the scope of the original contract technical provisions. Contract clauses required for projects involving Recovery Act funds have been incorporated into the Task Order. This existing contract must be used because the requirements are within the scope of the original award and for efficiency and economy the Government's best interest would be served. The ARRA funded modification work will be issued under MD137NWS1R. Anticipated execution of this modification under the L-3 contract is August 20, 2010.
