RECOVERY--The Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) intends to issue an invitation for bid (IFB), W912P5-10-B-0001, for the Upstream Lock Monoliths Kentucky Lock Addition Project. The work covered by this project consists of furnishing all equipment, labor, and materials required for concrete construction.
The estimated magnitude of the construction project cost is between $25,000,000.00 and $100,000,000.00. The work includes, but is not limited to; site demolition, drilling, grouting and testing, excavation, earthwork, roadwork, operation and maintenance of instrumentation systems, relocation of site utilities, rock blasting, concrete placement, and installation of pipe.
IFB W912P5-10-B-0001 will be for full and open competition. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990, with a size standard of $33.5 million. The Government intends to award one (1) firm fixed price construction contract with a base period and ten (10) options. The contract will be awarded to the responsible contractor (subject FAR Subpart 9.104-1) who submits a responsive bid that complies with the solicitation.
The solicitation and any applicable amendments for this acquisition will be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website, www.fbo.gov. If you are a first-time FedBizOpps user, you will also be required to register in FedBizOpps before accessing the IFB documents. To register, click on the Register Now button in the Vendors Block and follow the instructions. Once registered with FedBizOpps, interested parties will then be able to log in and access the IFB documents. The estimated release date for IFB W912P5-10-B-0001 is on or about 6 November 2009. Specific information including the bid instructions, closing date, and time for submission of bids will be contained in the solicitation notice and package.
It is, and will continue to be, all potential contractors responsibility to monitor the FBO website for the release of the solicitation notice and package, any amendments, updates, responses to questions and answers, etc. as the Government will not be maintaining a mailing list. Pursuant to FAR, the response date of the solicitation is no earlier than 30 days from the date of the solicitation release date. The solicitation due date will be noted on the solicitation at the time of issue. There is no technical information available until the issue of the solicitation.
