Coast Highway did not need repaving at this time, particularly relative to many other streets in Orange County or even in Laguna Beach. A few CalTrans employees and a couple suppliers of materials are the only ones who benefit from this stimulus funding. It's a waste of tax dollars with very little impact on local economic recovery. Reply to John Q. Public : Gosh they could have just given everybody in Laguna $100 and we could have spent it at local businesses. They are the ones needing the help. If anything the torn up road has hurt business at the time they need more (when tourist season has ended). Reply
