Since when should the federal government pay for intersections that come about due to urban expansion. Federal money should fund interstate highway systems to benefit the nation for trade, but state and local governments should tax and fund development. Building an interchange might employ a few folks this year, but will this project cause people to be employed next year or just reduce the unemployment in the short term. Reply

This intersection needs an interchange very badly, and the contruction workers could use jobs since they are unfairly hit by the greed of wall street bankers causing the sub-prime mess. Reply

If I remember correctly this only builds half of the needed interchanges. Only half of the mess will be cleaned up. More half complete (want to say something else) work just like the 1604 project. Reply

Urban Sprawl is a bogus lifestyle promoted by land developers and paid for by taxpayers through road, bridge, school, and water infrastructure subsidies. The tax revenues per taxpayer living in the "Hill Country" is incapable of retiring the bonds to pay for all of this. I hope all you dip<<Deleted by Moderator>>es living out there choke on your construction madness on the way to the city and back every day...hill country living is an unsustainable delusional and expensive fantasy.
