Gosh I'd hate to see some starlet hit a pothole in her Beamer. This is exactly why citizens have no faith in government. Reply

Beverly Hills is an economically distressed area. Wow, what a revelation. Guess all those really expensive boutiques are losing business because people can't drive their Mercedes-Benzes, BMW's, and Jaquars comfortably and if they had to pay for their own roads they couldn't afford the taxes and maintenace on their mansions. I really like this one! I guess the wealthy denizens of Beverly Hills have too many homestead and property tax exclusions to be able to pay for their own communities' road upkeep and maintenance! They should take heart, though, when the French Revolution occured, the residents were not permitted back in their chateaus. Reply

Reply to KK : One thing that should be pointed out is that the money paid wages of workers who can't afford to reside in BH and the businesses hiring them are mostly from the other side of hill in San Fernando Valley. I don't care whose neighborhood we improve if the money earned can be spent in my neighborhood. Reply

Reply to W K Palulis : That is still no reason for all taxpayers to fund the project. The ultra-wealthy BH residents should pay the poor workers in the Valley themselves. They can afford thousands of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democrats. Reply

Federal tax revenue for the most wealthy neighborhoods? Need more be said! Does not the road infrastructure of run down communities need attention? Reply

Reply to Chris_TI : Next our taxpayer dollars will be going to the Hamptons to build a town-square for their extravagent summer gatherings...After the town-square is constructed there will be a celebration with Patron and Champagne--of course provided by the taxpayer. Lets' party! Reply

Reply to Sarcasm : $10 M in Beverly Hills...awesome! Wouldnt want Hollywood types to be bogged down in traffic when they have such improtant work to do like promoting a farce like Global warming or Climate Change or whatever the libs rebrand it after the Amer public wises up. There is an old saying in the midwest...if you dont like the weather hang around for a few minutes...thats real climate change...been happening for millions of years! Reply
