We are spending for too much money on road contracts, in which the roads are being half fixed. Here in Texas I-35 was stripped in black in white lane dividers. The first rain all strip tape was all across the roads. We can not continue to hire contractors they are preying on the taxpayer, but those that are willing to be logical and honest. Reply

Try connecting some sidewalk, especially south county! You have side walk that just ends and kids are forced to walk on the side of four lane highways With gas going up it would be nice to walk or ride a bike! Promote your communities and businesses will build where people walk, ride and drive!!!!!!!! Reply

anything that can take even a few cars off of I270 would help traffic. People going from Chesterfield to Westport would have an alternate route. Reply

Dennis, 270 needs north/south relief. Once connected to Earth City Expressway, this will provide relief. That's not hogwash, that's a fact and MODOT agrees. It's been on the books for years waiting for funding. Kathy, what does "where revenue is generated" have to do with need? Is this your way of saying this part of the area is "rich" and because of that, they deserve less from their already disproportionate tax dollars? Perhaps this is the "hogwash" to which Dennis was referring... Reply

Complete nonsense; only portion needed truly is from St. Lukes /Conway where it congests to Olive Blvd. That's about 2 miles truly needed for road widening and access to Olive. Extending to Page is hogwash as there are sufficient roads now for the little traffic there. Reply

I concur, it is my opinion that the recovery money in St. Louis would be best spent extending the Metro rail service. Currently the Rail goes North and West, possibly extend the rail in South St. Louis? Reply

Reply to Milton : You have a good point but what about all the traffic coming in from St. Charles and West County? That's why 40 and 70 are nitemares in the AM and PM in drive time. Guess the good citizens of East St. Louis deserve it more though and the good gas companies need all the gas we consume on the road. Reply

There is plenty of revenue generated in this part of town. Downtown could use more money for infrastructure than the burbs. Reply
