What happens with the existing buses (if they still work, couldn't they be sold, or traded to cities that are purchasing new buses w/ stimulus funds?)? Wouldn't hybrid buses be more cost effective a few years down the road--as the technology becomes more developed...thus substantially decreasing the cost? If the residents in this area feel that the money would be best spent elsewhere, and ridership is low, why not re-allocate the dollars to a more worthwhile project?-and let GM flip this bill? Reply

There are now too many buses. Ive never seen more than 10 people on any one bus. There are far greater needs than to spend this amount of money on "more buses". When the economy improves, then spend the money on hybrid buses, but not now. Reply
